About Me

Louise Catterall is a contemporary portrait artist based in Arundel, West Sussex. She studied illustration & graphic design at De Montfort University Leicester. Since then she has embarked on a career as a graphic designer. She prefers to work on large format canvases, painted predominantly with oil paint, each piece begins with a photo of a subject, all are completed with a large amount of experimentation, she feels that each piece takes her on a journey of new discovery, she hope that it takes the viewer on the same journey and that the pieces convey the character of the portrait subject as well as the feelings and emotions of the time and situation.
